Three people at a desk reviewing hotel rates on screens

About top10hotel

A small booking desk that keeps a short list of casino hotels and knows each of them well.

Why only ten (or thirteen)

Most hotel sites try to list everything. We do the opposite. top10hotel started in 2019 as a private spreadsheet shared between four friends who kept getting asked the same question: "We want a proper casino resort for a long weekend, which one?" The spreadsheet had ten rows. It compared rates, resort fees, pool hours, how far the rooms were from the casino floor, and whether the famous restaurant was actually open on Tuesdays.

The spreadsheet became this website. The list has grown to thirteen resorts because a few genuinely new openings earned a place, but the idea is unchanged: fewer hotels, checked more often, described by people who have stayed in them.

How a hotel gets on the list

We look for three things. The property has to be a true resort, with a casino that is part of the experience rather than an afterthought in a basement. It has to be somewhere we can vouch for the rooms, either from our own stays or from guests who report back to us. And it has to be bookable at a rate that makes sense for a leisure traveller, not only for high rollers on a host's list.

A hotel can also leave the list. When a tower closes for a long renovation, when service slips for more than a season, or when a resort fee balloons past what the room delivers, we say so on the hotel's page and, if needed, we retire it.

What happens after you send a request

The booking form on this site does not charge your card or hold a room. It builds a request: hotel, dates, guests, rooms and an estimated total based on the starting rate we last verified. That request lands with one of us, not an automated queue. We check live availability with the hotel or its official channel, confirm the exact rate including taxes and resort fees, and reply to you by email, usually the same business day.

If the rate we quoted is no longer available, we tell you what is, and we usually suggest an alternative: a different room category, a shifted date, or a neighbouring resort with a better deal that week. You decide. Nothing is booked until you say yes and the hotel confirms in writing.

How we make money

We do not add a fee to your booking. Some hotels and their official booking partners pay us a commission when a stay we arranged is completed. That commission does not change the rate you pay, and it does not influence which hotels appear on the list; several resorts here pay us nothing at all. We do not sell advertising, and we do not sell your data.

Who we are

top10hotel is run by a team of five based in Southern California, with regular trips to Las Vegas, Macau and Singapore built into the calendar. Between us we have worked in hotel revenue management, travel journalism and front-desk operations, which is roughly the mix you need to read a rate sheet, judge a room and know what a concierge can actually do for a guest.

Questions about the list, corrections, or a resort you think we have missed: write to [email protected]. We read everything.
